This document provides a comprehensive guide on managing financial transactions within the Conversation Matcher platform. It covers the setup of payment methods, the purchasing of Conversation Coins, handling conversation costs, and managing invoices and transaction history. The goal is to ensure a transparent, secure, and efficient financial experience for all users.

1. Payment Methods

Conversation Matcher supports a variety of secure payment methods to facilitate the purchasing of Conversation Coins. Users can manage their preferred payment options directly from the Account Settings dashboard under the "Billing" tab.

2. Purchasing Conversation Coins

Conversation Matcher operates on a virtual currency system known as "Conversation Coins." These coins are used to unlock meaningful interactions on the platform. Coins are purchased in fixed-price packages.

How to Buy Coins

  1. Navigate to the Wallet section in the main menu.
  2. Select "Add Coins".
  3. Choose your desired package from the list above.
  4. Select your preferred payment method (Google Pay, Credit Card, or Apple Pay).
  5. Confirm the transaction. The coins will be added to your balance immediately upon successful payment.

3. Conversation Payment Options

Initiating a match or unlocking a chat requires Conversation Coins. The standard cost for unlocking a new conversation channel is fixed.

When a match is found, you are presented with three distinct payment options designed to offer flexibility in how connections are funded.

Option A: Pay for Yourself

You cover the full cost of the conversation. This is the default option and ensures immediate access to the chat.

  • Cost to you: 10 Coins.
  • Cost to partner: 0 Coins.
  • Status: Chat unlocks immediately.

Option B: Split the Payment

You propose to split the cost evenly with the other person. This option requires the other party to accept the split before the conversation unlocks.

  • Cost to you: 5 Coins.
  • Cost to partner: 5 Coins.
  • Status: Chat is "Pending" until the other user accepts the 5-coin charge.

Option C: Let the Other Person Pay

You request that the other person covers the full cost of the conversation. This is often used when one party has specifically requested the expertise or time of the other.

  • Cost to you: 0 Coins.
  • Cost to partner: 10 Coins.
  • Status: Chat is "Pending" until the other user accepts the 10-coin charge.

Expiration Warning If a split payment or request for payment is not accepted within 24 hours, the match request will expire, and any coins held in escrow (for split payments) will be returned to your wallet.

4. Managing Your Invoices

Conversation Matcher automatically generates a compliant invoice for every purchase of Conversation Coins. These are available for tax and record-keeping purposes.

Accessing Invoices

  1. Go to Settings > Billing & Invoices.
  2. Scroll to the "Invoice History" section.
  3. Click on the specific Transaction ID to view details.
  4. Select "Download PDF" to save a local copy.

Invoices include the date of purchase, the package selected, the payment method used, the total amount paid (including VAT where applicable), and the Conversation Matcher business registration details.

5. Transaction History

Your Transaction History provides a ledger of both coin purchases (credits) and conversation spending (debits).

To view your history:

  1. Navigate to Wallet.
  2. Click on the "History" tab.

The ledger will display:

  • Date/Time: Timestamp of the activity.
  • Activity Type: Purchase, Chat Unlock, Split Payment Refund, etc.
  • Amount: The number of coins added (+) or deducted (-).
  • Balance: The running total of coins in your account.

6. Payment Security

We take the security of your financial data seriously. Conversation Matcher employs industry-standard security measures.

  • PCI DSS Compliance: Our payment processing partners are fully compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard.
  • SSL Encryption: All data transmitted between your browser and our servers is encrypted using 256-bit SSL technology.
  • No Data Storage: We do not store full credit card numbers or CVV codes on our internal databases.

7. Refund Policy

Our refund policy is designed to be fair while preventing abuse of the platform.

  • Coin Purchases: Unused coin packages may be refunded within 14 days of purchase. Once any coins from a package have been used, the package is non-refundable.
  • Conversation Unlocks: Coins spent on unlocking conversations are generally non-refundable. However, if a technical error prevents the chat from opening after payment, the coins will be automatically restored to your wallet.
  • Account Termination: If you choose to close your account, the monetary value of any remaining unused coins is not refundable.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with payments or coins, please refer to the following common solutions.

Split Payment StuckIf a split payment is "Pending" for more than 24 hours, the system will automatically cancel it and refund your 5 coins. You do not need to take action.
Unable to add cardClear your browser cache or try a different browser. Ensure you are not using a VPN that might trigger fraud detection systems.

Q: Can I transfer coins to another user?
A: No, Conversation Coins are non-transferable between accounts to prevent unauthorized secondary markets.

Q: Do Conversation Coins expire?
A: Coins do not expire as long as your account remains active. If an account is inactive for 12 months, the balance may be forfeited subject to our Terms of Service.

Q: Can I set up auto-reload for coins?
A: Currently, we do not support auto-reloading. You must manually purchase a package when your balance runs low. We will notify you when you have fewer than 20 coins remaining.

Q: Is VAT included in the price?
A: Yes, all prices listed for Coin Packages are inclusive of applicable VAT or sales tax based on your billing region.

Q: Why was I charged 10 coins instead of 5?
A: This likely occurred because you selected "Pay for Yourself" instead of "Split Payment." Please review the selection carefully before confirming the chat unlock.
